Author Talk Series – Genie Dailey

Genie Dailey is the owner of Fine Points Editorial Services in Jefferson, Maine. Genie earned a BA in English from The College of New Jersey and later worked at Prentice-Hall, where she was trained and mentored by two experienced textbook editors. After a few years freelancing in Connecticut with her husband, Jim, an artist and book designer, the couple moved to Maine in 1974. Over her many years of editing experience, Genie’s work has included fiction and nonfiction, textbooks, memoirs, poetry, and children’s books. She sees every new project as a challenge to enjoy and to learn from, and she never imagined she would still be doing this work she loves well into “retirement.”
During her Author Talk on April 19th, Genie will share some of the writing she does when her thoughts wander or she’s inspired by something in nature. She’ll also discuss a few key things about her work as a book editor and take questions after her presentation. Her own book, Mind Your P’s and Q’s (and Your A, B, C’s)–with the tagline “Tips for Writers from an Editor’s Point of View”—will be available for purchase at the event.
