Letter from the Director

Dear Patrons,

It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you that I am resigning effective January 17, 2025. I am stepping down as the director in order to pick up the role of caregiver to my mother. This has been a long and arduous decision that my family supports, and that the Board of Directors fully understands.

My 16 month tenure as the Director does not seem long enough. I began as a circulation volunteer back in October of 2022, and found myself investing more and more time in the library and its mission. Moving into the Director position in 2023 was a no-brainer decision for me.

I will miss many aspects of my time as the Director, but none more so than seeing the faces of community members. From helping patrons find just the right book, hosting gatherings of celebration, and to singing wildly with my Storytime friends, I will miss you.

Who knows what the future may bring. I am not disappearing completely, and you will still see me volunteering as I am able. There are so many stellar programs and events at the library that I will certainly not miss.

Rest assured that the Search Committee is already underway in finding the next Director for the Whitefield Library.

Best wishes to you and yours this holiday season,

Suzanne
