Interlibrary Loans Are Here!

Interlibrary Loans are finally here! Our Patrons now have access to books from all over the state, country, and even the world through interlibrary loan. If you can’t find what you want on OUR shelves, let us order your book through Interlibrary Loan. We have been eager to get this program up and running for some time, and we are excited to finally be able to offer it to you now. To request a book through ILL (interlibrary loan), you must fill out a request form. This can be done in person at the library (ask the volunteer on the Circulation Desk for a request form) or you can fill out the form online:

There are a lot of moving parts to ILL; the above graphic explains the basic process. We are currently requesting a three-dollar donation to help defray the costs of mailing books back to the sending library. This is ONLY a request, and one we hope we only have to make for the first year. If we use ILL enough, we will be placed on van service which means that ILL books will be dropped off to us and picked up by the Maine State Library.

ILL requests can take up to two weeks to arrive and books with a publish date newer than six months can’t be received through ILL. Please stop by the library to learn more about this exciting new service!
